How we do Business

“Red Cedar Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends” is the official name of our Meeting, but people within Meeting and the community generally just refer to “Red Cedar Friends Meeting”. The name as it appears on our checking and other financial accounts is “Religious Society of Friends, Red Cedar Meeting”.

Red Cedar Monthly Meeting is a member of Green Pastures Quarterly Meeting, which includes Ann Arbor, Birmingham, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Pine River Monthly Meetings and Holland Preparative Meeting. We are also affiliated with Lake Erie Yearly Meeting, which meets once a year and encompasses more than 30 Quaker Meetings in Michigan, northern Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Committees & Officers

Red Cedar Monthly Meeting is a gathering of individuals who worship and have fellowship in the manner of Friends. Committees and officers (listed below) exist to do the preparatory work towards decision-making by the Monthly Meeting and to carry out the charges delegated to them by the Meeting.
